Beautiful Desk to Sit At

Comments about Tribeca Loft Cherry Glass Door Executive Desk:

I was so excited for this beautiful desk at my office. The cabinets in the front are the perfect place to display my books. The drawers are within easy reach and provide ample storage. I did find that the wood finish on the desk surface scratched but I wouldn't say as easily as the other review stated.

Disappointed in quality and finish

Comments about Tribeca Loft Cherry Glass Door Executive Desk:

I searched hard to find solid wood good quality furniture that will last, after losing everything in a fire and so needing it fast. With the high reviews here, I thought I'd found some. Sadly, after spending over six grand, I wish I'd waited until I could get to stores so I could judge it before buying.

This furniture is part wood, part pressed board. (A piece of the pressed board was broken in transit, and the company was good about replacing it, but knowing it will break that easily doesn't give me much confidence.) And even the wood seems to be a poor quality. When moving it through a doorway, a corner bumped into the door. No damage to the door, but the corner of the desk is damaged badly.

Worse, the finish is very weak - just placing a cardboard box on it scratched it and where a hutch was placed on a desk left scratches totally destroying the finish. While it would be beautiful furniture to have sitting in an unused office, I can't imagine how junky it's going to look within a few months of normal use. I'd had my previous set of furniture for years without a scratch ever appearing, so I know it's possible for a much tougher finish to be used. I have no idea why they'd use such a poor one that can't withstand even normal usage.

So, beautiful furniture to look at as long as you don't have any illusions it will continue to be beautiful furniture once you start using it.
