I bought this desk along with the lateral file and bookcase to upgrade the furniture in a classroom. The bookcase was very easy to assemble, and the file was fairly easy, but this desk was challenging. Like the other pieces, the desk arrived in several very heavy flat boxes with absolutely NOTHING assembled. Moving the boxes and the assembly itself requires at least two people. The directions were easy to follow and had good diagrams. My team (three adults with very good mechanical abilities, one adult with no mechanical ability, and one overly curious puppy) spent 4 hours assembling the desk, and we didn't finish. Of course, we may have been slowed by the composition of our team. Assembling the drawer pedestals only requires one person, but holding the larger pieces in place while lining up the attachments requires help. Moving the two desk pieces into place with each other requires two or three people to avoid damaging the structure of the furniture. As with the lateral file, avoid dragging the pedestals or desk sides across carpeting because the laminate can chip up or peel off. Also, attach the plastic file hangers before attaching the drawer fronts. Latex gloves would be handy for working with the drawer slides. The drawers work well, but a perfectionist would not be satisfied with their alignment; they are within 1/16" of true. I think the back of the L-desk (piece 70?) should have one of the adjustable feet to help the stability. I'll need to put a shim under that area or that section will be a constant weight on the braces connecting the desk halves. The only difficulty with hardware or pre-drilled holes involved the keyboard tray. The screws provided were too large for the holes in the metal brackets, but the holes were too big to use smaller screws. Solution: washers and plastic wall anchors with the tops cut off. Overall sturdy, attractive, and practical.

I ordered two desks this time, I had already purchased one in the past and still use it in one of our offices. I like this desk because we could mirror the desks in the office.

The desk is amazing! It's durable and looks great in my office. The only downside is that it takes time to put together and I would not suggest trying to do it yourself.

    Comments about Embassy Reversible L-Desk:

I love my new desk! It's beautiful and more sturdy and stylish than I expected for a product that would need to be assembled. Keep in mind that it DOES take some time to assemble and should be done with at least 2 people.

    Comments about Embassy Reversible L-Desk:

This desk comes with multiple documents for putting all the pieces together. The instructions are not clear which makes it take much longer to put together than it should. The cost to have it put together is crazy, but now I can see why.
