I bought the lateral file, bookcase, and L-shaped desk in July 2017 for a high-school classroom. It arrived fairly quickly and in good shape. Understand that NOTHING comes assembled. Very heavy boxes arrived on an oversized pallet, and each one contained pre-cut pieces of wood, hardware, and instructions. Carrying the boxes is a two-person job.

The bookcase was easy to assemble. The directions have good diagrams, and all the pieces are labeled correctly. By myself (50-ish woman), I put together the bookcase in a few hours, including cleanup, with a Phillips screwdriver and a hammer.

The lateral file was a bit more challenging than the bookcase, but again, by myself, I had it assembled in one solid morning. It might be faster for someone who doesn't have a puppy helping. The drawer slides have a grease on them that will end up on you. Latex gloves might be a good idea for that step. Remember to attach the plastic file-hanging strips to the drawer insides before attaching the drawer front. Avoid dragging the assembled piece across carpeting because the laminate edges can chip off or peel up. After the file is assembled, the piece is pretty heavy. The drawers do not sit perfectly straight, but they're within 1/16" of true. The lock works, but I don't know that it's completely impermeable. Part of the backing is cardboard.

Overall, the pieces are solid, sturdy, and attractive. The drawers slide easily, and the shelves are adjustable. All the holes were pre-drilled in the right places, all the hardware was included, and the directions were easy to follow. This is not the furniture I would buy to outfit a showcase home, but it's a wonderful upgrade to a classroom.

Everything arrived in a timely manner. The instructions were okay to read, it did take awhile to put the file cabinet together. One piece arrived with the template being wrong on the book shelf but was given a replacement in a couple days. All in all very happy with the look and structure.

I looked at numerous desks, files, and bookcases for my home office, but I kept coming back to the Bestar Embassy set. It looks and works great with good quality and value. My husband did not have any problem putting these pieces together. Delivery was fast with excellent service from the carrier!! Certainly would purchase from Office Furniture again.

When you finally have it assembled, you will have a fine piece of furniture, functional and sturdy. BUT it took a day to assemble the first one, 1/2 day the second. There are so many parts.

This was an easily assembled bookcase and the wood seems quite durable. The lateral file drawers were a bit difficult to figure out but once the first drawer was complete it went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this product for a home office. I also like that there is an option for legal or letter size adjustable drawers.

Great file cabinet and bookcase. Sturdy rails for drawers that glide easily. Assembly instructions have you assemble the rails using the horizonal ovals for the screws (there are 3 different slots you can use: horizontal ovals, circles, and vertical ovals). I would suggest using the vertical ovals so that the drawers can be adjusted if they don't close properly at first. We had to adjust the draweres a little bit (by sliding the rails either up or down within the vertical ovals and retightening the screws) to get them to both close properly, without hitting each other.
